We’ve had plenty of delicious meals over the holidays, and sometimes there are leftovers that we’re unsure how to use to avoid waste.
Instead of the previous Christmas Ham Pie ideas, you can turn your leftover ham into a delicious ham steak! Nothing good will go to waste. It’s simple to prepare and can be served for lunch or dinner.
If you have any leftover Christmas ham, let’s make this ham steak with red eye gravy!
𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
- Leftover ham, 2 pcs
- Butter, 1 tbsp
- Plain flour, 1 tbsp
- Black coffee, 1 cup
- Black pepper and salt, 1 tsp
𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:
- Make some cuts on two slices of ham steak.
- Heat the cast iron skillet pan over medium heat, then add the ham steak and grill until golden brown. Set aside.
- Red eye gravy: Melt the butter in the pan, then stir in the flour. Pour in the black coffee, stir until boiled, and season with black pepper and salt.
- For a more complete meal, serve the ham steak with some roasted vegetables.
