The smoked bacon bone comes in big chunks which have the same taste as the Premium Streaky Bacon – Salty and smoky. Usually, when cooing it in soup, the meat will become tender after a long cooking time. It has a golden outer layer because of the smoking process. Most of the time we do not use the bacon bones because the flavours are all out into the soup already.
To prepare the meat for cooking, remember to let it thaw completely. For chilled products, place the product in its original package on a plate in room temperature for 30 minutes. For frozen products, place the product on a plate in the fridge overnight (12-24 hours). To check if the product is thawed, touch it to feel. If the meat is not hard to touch or is easily bendable like fresh meat, it will be ready for cooking.

Bacon Bones are usually used as a soup base for various broths. After defrosting the meat, fry them up in a pan until you rendered some of the fat. Then, remove them from the heat when it has even browning and some charred spots. You may save the bacon grease to use for stir-frying vegetables, cooking pasta, baking, etc. As for the bacon bones, throw them in a pot of water with other ingredients you desire for your soup. Then, bring them to a boil and let it simmer at least 1 hour. Lastly, strain out the bacon bones and you will have an incredibly flavourful broth!
