At this beginning of May, let’s feast on the Solisege Specialty Sausages that are made with prime cuts of pork and natural hog casing. Featured this week are the German Bockwurst and the Hot Italian Sausage. Like the name suggests, the German Bockwurst is the classic go-to sausage that you can find in any grocery store in Germany. It’s flavoured with salt, pepper, marjoram and other spices that give it a herby aroma and taste. It’s traditionally made with ground veal and pork but the Solisege version only contains finely ground pork.
The Hot Italian Sausage on the other hand is a spicy, Italian herbs flavoured sausage. It contains cayenne pepper, fennel and a mix of other spices.
This sausage has a salty and very fragrant spice taste. Despite its name, the sausage is not really spicy for the average Malaysian taste bud. It has a more chewy texture than a regular sausage because the meat used is less fine. Due to natural smoking, the casing will sometimes have uneven colour which is nothing to worry about.
The last item in the promotion basket would be the Spreadable Leberwurst. It’s Malaysia’s first liverwurst made with traditional recipe in a HACCP and ISO22000 certified manufacturing plant. The spread is very smooth and filled with herby aromatics. It’s very easy to spread on a toast, a cracker, or just some bread for a quick snack. Get home one and try it for yourself!
